Tokyo Joshi Pro - YES! WONDERLAND 2018 ~BREAK MYSELF!~ (5/3/2018)

5. Falls Count Anywhere Match: Hyper Misao vs. Jun Kasai

Korakuen was burning for this match. Hyper Misao gave an earnest underdog performance, and Kasai was magnificent of course, he had the crowd going bonkers. Fantastic blend of action, drama and comedy.

6. TOKYO Princess Tag Team Championship: NEO Biishiki-gun (Saki-sama & Azusa Christie) (c) vs. Reika Saiki & Marika Kobashi

Par for the course with Neo Bishiki-gun, nothing special and nothing I haven't seen from them a dozen times already. I love Azusa, but she hasn't offered much as a member of Bishiki-gun. Bring back Masa. The finishing stretch seemed to be building towards something dramatic but ended on a dropkick.

7. TOKYO Princess of Princess Championship: Miyu Yamashita (c) vs. Rika Tatsumi

Great main event and the best defense of Miyu's reign so far. There's a Cobra Clutch struggle here that was fantastic - loved Miyu kicking at Rika's arm as she tried to escape the hold. Rika gave an emotional performance, and introduced a couple of new hip attacks that I dug as well.

Stardom - Rebirth: The Stardom Draft (4/15/2018)

3. Candy Floss & Session Moth Martina vs. Oedo Tai (Hana Kimura & Sumire Natsu)

This was a fun match, great "character performances" from Martina and Sumire in particular. Floss & Martina nailed their comedic spots.

**1/2

5. Jungle Kyona, Saki Kashima & Starlight Kid vs. Queen's Quest (AZM, HZK & Momo Watanabe)

This was HZK's final match as a member of Queen's Quest as she was drafted to Oedo Tai by Kagetsu, so it serves as something of a sendoff match, and what a great sendoff it was. Loved all of the match-ups here - AZM/Kid being the highlight - and there were exciting momentum shifts.

Emi Sakura, Masahiro Takanashi & SAKI vs. Riho, Makoto & Konatsu (Gatoh Move, 2/25/2018)

Gatoh Move - Japan Tour・342 (2/25/2018)

Emi Sakura, Masahiro Takanashi & SAKI vs. Riho, Makoto & Konatsu

This was a really fun trios match. First time seeing Konatsu on tape and I thought she gave a solid rookie performance. Her comedic spots with Sakura were very cute. Makoto was awesome with her explosive kicks and knee strikes.

Riho vs. Yapper Man #3 (Michinoku Pro, 4/14/2018)

Michinoku Pro - Tokyo Conference 2018 Vol. 2 ~ Jisetsu Torai (4/14/2018)

Riho vs. Yapper Man #3

Big opportunity for Yapper Man to be facing the reigning Super Asia Champion. This was an exciting timeout draw match between two skilled performers.

Sendai Girls (4/21/2018)

2. Cassandra Miyagi & Mio Momono vs. Strong Style Rush (Alex Lee & Mika Iwata)

Great stuff. This was a rather simple, basic tag, but I thought everything they did looked great. Those kicks from Iwata and Lee were beautiful. SSR have grown so much as a team, and Cassandra & Momono had a fun dynamic.

3. Ami Sato & Chihiro Hashimoto vs. Manami & Meiko Satomura

Long tag match that packed a lot of great content. Everyone shined bright, with clearly defined roles. The stuff between Chihiro and Meiko was excellent, and I absolutely loved the finishing sequence.

4. Heidi Katrina & Yuu Yamagata vs. RIOT Crown (DASH Chisako & KAORU)

Great to see Yuu in Senjo, and no surprise that she was the star of the match.

Sendai Girls (4/19/2018)

4. Hana Kimura vs. Mika Iwata

Great - the last match between these two ended in a time over, so the pacing of this match plays into that, and it's wrestled like a war of attrition where they are wearing each other down with bombs. Hana was a vicious aggressor, and Iwata's selling and comebacks were strong.

****1/4

5. Io Shirai vs. Meiko Satomura

An epic clash between two of the best. There's a great amount of stiffness, and the energy and crowd reaction was unreal.

****1/2

6. Sendai Girls World Championship: Chihiro Hashimoto (c) vs. Ayako Hamada

Methodically paced heavyweight fight with a red-hot finish. I wish there was something more here in the way of story, but it was still a great competitive title match with explosive moves and exchanges.
