Riho &「Kotori」vs. Mitsuru Konno & Aasa Maika (Gatoh Move, 5/3/2017)

Gatoh Move - Japan Tour・287 (5/3/2017)

Riho &「Kotori」vs. Mitsuru Konno & Aasa Maika

I loved everything Aasa was doing here, the segment with「Kotori」where she gets a somersault throw into the wall, and her overconfidence when she's taking on both Riho & 「Kotori」. Konno was not having a good match; her transitions and execution was sloppy, but fortunately she didn't get much. An OK match.

Tokyo Joshi Pro - Fighting Beer Garden 2017 (7/30/2017)

1. Tokyo Princess Cup - Semi Finals: Shoko Nakajima vs. Reika Saiki

Solid match. Muscle Waifu's strongest performance yet.

3. Miyu Yamashita, Nonoko & Yuna Manase vs. Yuu, Nodoka-oneesan & Marika Kobashi

4. Maki Ito vs. Azusa Takigawa

5. Dragon Bombers (Rika Tatsumi & Maho Kurone) vs. NEO Biishiki-gun (Yukio Saint Laurent & Masa (w/ Saki-sama))

6. Tokyo Princess Cup - Finals: Reika Saiki vs. Yuka Sakazaki

A small gripe I had with this match was Reika's strikes, when they hit they were weak and sometimes they didn't connect. She hits a good kick to the head towards the end, though. The headscissors Boston crab counter was legit.

OZ Academy - Summer Soft Breeze (7/16/2017)

1. Aja Kong vs. Hikaru Shida

An uphill battle for Shida, and she had to use whatever openings she could find, and seize the opportunity with shinai strikes and knees to head. It didn't reach the violence of their past encounters, with the blood and what have you, and the double KO ending hurts, but I thought this was otherwise an awesome brawl.

2. MK4 (Kaho Kobayashi & Sonoko Kato) vs. Kaori Yoneyama & Yoshiko

Awesome match; loved the double team maneuvers. Yoshiko and Yoneyama had a fun team dynamic, and Sonoko is just the best.

3. Manami Toyota vs. Tsubasa Kuragaki

4. Sekigun (Alex Lee, Mayumi Ozaki & Yumi Ohka) vs. Aoi Kizuki, Hiroe Nagahama & Rina Yamashita

This was a perfectly fine houseshow trios match. The opening FIP segment was pure sadism; Hiroe is a great bumper. I'm warming up to Alex Lee in Ozakigun.

5. AKINO vs. Hiroyo Matsumoto

1.「Kotori」vs. Hirori

3. Riho & Aasa Maika vs. Hikaru Shida & Mitsuru Konno

The opening segment between Riho and Shida was awesome. Konno was chaining together painful-looking lucha holds. She's the Negro Navarro of joshi puroresu. Shida and Maika have heat and that led to fun moments.

Tam Nakano vs. Viper (GPS, 7/26/2017)

GPS - Growth (7/26/2017)

Tam Nakano vs. Viper

Tamu legitimately cracks Viper in the jaw with a beautiful spin kick. The referee seems to have thought Tam would kick out during the finish and kind of half-counts the three.. weird finish aside, though, this was a decent squash. The post-match interview with Tam was interesting. Fascinating person.

5. HZK vs. Jungle Kyona

This match has a vile-sounding headbutt in just the opening sequence! It's amazing that they were able to keep up the pace, because that looked like it hurt bad. HZK's bully-esque offense was great, and Kyona brings an emotion to her performances that draws you in. Great, hard-hitting match.

6. Konami, Michiko Ohmukai & Yoko Bito vs. Oedo Tai (Hana Kimura, Kagetsu & Kris Wolf)

Oedo Tai are breakdancing ninjas now. Alright. At least they've gotten a new and better entrance theme. Bito breaks out a Splash Mountain for the victory. This was a fun match.

7. Wonder of Stardom Championship: Mayu Iwatani (c) vs. Viper

This was good. An obvious filler match, from the moment it was announced, but good. Mayu puts on a great performance as she fights hard for her big comeback; she's getting cut off and ragdolled before she rallies for her second wind, and Viper bumps like crazy.

SEAdLINNNG - This Is Us! (7/14/2017)

1. Akane Fujita vs. Ryo Mizunami

Ryo's a hard-hitter, Akane is a wrestler who knows how to take hard hits. Good match-up and they deliver a solid performance. I love that Akane's been taking bookings outside of Ice Ribbon lately.

3. Rumble Style 8-Man Tag Team Match: Arisa Nakajima, Nanae Takahashi, Sareee & Yoshiko vs. Manami Toyota, Rina Yamashita, Takumi Iroha & Tomoko Watanabe

5. Best Friends (Arisa Nakajima & Tsukasa Fujimoto) vs. Nanae Takahashi & Sareee

A sequel to the wild sprint these teams had in Yokohama, but on a bigger stage in Korakuen. It was good, but nothing I haven't seen from them already. It was nice to see Sareee getting her first big SEAdLINNNG win.

Momo Watanabe vs. Kagetsu (Stardom, 1/3/2017)

Stardom - New Years Stars 2017 (1/3/2017)

Momo Watanabe vs. Kagetsu

Kagetsu's kind of fucking around at the start, but these two get a nice rhythm going as this went on, with great counters and exchanges. Momo was the defacto face, and you could rally behind her in the way that she sold and made her comebacks. Solid timeout draw match.
